I've been clicking back on my friend's page for hours now. I feel like I missed out on a lot. So what is hyphy? Am I spelling it right?

I am planning to move again. I am not exactly sure where, but I am hoping to good ol' San Fran. I'm looking into firms there and Chicago. If anyone has recommendations, I'd truly appreciate it.

I bought a beautiful 1965 Vespa Super. I had it customized from paint to engine. I got it for $800 and can sell it in the states for $4000! That is some skrillas, now that's hyphy yo. Okay, what the hell is hyphy? I need to know.

I had a little conversation with the one and only... John Lurie. It would be a meaningless conversation to any other person who's never watched Down by Law, Stranger than Paradise or Fishing with John, but for me... it felt special.


It started with him messaging me:
JL: hey I made fishing with john, why won't you approve my friend request?
M: how do i know you are really john lurie? i will need proper identification, your shoe size and a picture of "john lurie" in his underpants. till then.
JL: shoe size is 10
photo in underpants is asking too much
it is just a friend request on myspace after all
M: i know it is just a myspace friend request, but i don't like the idea that anyone can open a myspace account and say that they are some famous artist/musician/actor. i'd like to meet people who are true to themselves. maybe that is a lot to ask.
JL: I am me, I am using myspace to promote my artwork. But ok, I will withdraw my request
M: okay okay. i was hoping you'd fight a little with me and prove yourself. no need, it is your art you are promoting and it is great work. i would like to accept.
JL: I had removed the request, so now you are going to have to request me and send a photo in your underwear

I am expecting that California will not be as hot as Vietnam when I get back next month for a visit. I need some reassurance! Stop leaving your lights on all day, unplug your appliances and take short baths! I don't know what I'm talking about...

Although I do know that I can not wait to see your pretty faces again.

This has been a really confusing month.

I've been anticipating my one year contract to end for reasons of being home sick. The general manager of my firm stops by Vietnam and tells Peter and I that we may transfer to the choice of one of these two offices: Shanghai or London. I got really excited and I even had one of those joker smiles that swung left to right cheek. These two cities, in these two extraordinary countries. How will I be able to choose? I shortly realized that if I pick one of these cities, I won't be coming back to the states any time soon. I know it's one of those shut the fuck up and take it, but I'm a bit frightened that if I move on to another place, I won't ever settle down.

I analyze too much. Who knows, I could be fired because of my potty mouth and that will be the end of my travels. Yes, that could happen.

Hey all!

It's my third week in Vietnam. It's hot, humid and rainy. I've been busier than I've ever been at a job. Sorry to the people I haven't got in contact with since I've been overseas.

I just signed a contract with an artist here to rent his home for a year. It's a gorgeous 4 bedroom house with balconies and a coy pond in the hallway. It took us 2 weeks to negotiate a price with the guy and finally we're moving in in about two weeks.

Hope you guys have been well. I'm off to look at scooters, not for myself. I thought I would be able to handle the aggressive riders here, but I'm not willing to lose a limb.

I've been such a grumpy old lady lately. You know, the ones that has to speak their minds about the over priced tomatoes in the produce section.

Well today, I went through Neighborhoodies.com to order two cute items in the baby section for my cousin's baby shower. I was excited. I even had some cute names to put on the items, like "pooper". I was on the check out page and then saw the shipping section (below). I had to write them an email.



I just finished customizing two items in the baby section. I went all the way through to checkout and saw the shipping prices and time estimates. What I don't get is that you guys can obviously ship (standard) the items early instead of more than three weeks. Charging for a week delivery of $40 is nuts! It's more than the items itself. What's even more crazy is the Presidential Deluxe being $899.99. Is the owner that arrogant to think someone will pay that much for him to hand deliver? Who does he think he is? Star Jones? It's frustrating when sites like yours rip people off.

Bleh.

March 17th: Driving to San Jose, California to say our goodbyes.
March 22nd: Flying to Melbourne, Australia for 2 or 3 weeks of training.
Mid April: Staying in temporary housing in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and finding a new home.
